We’re really easy to find – halfway between Shoreditch & Dalston; Hackney & Islington; Hoxton & De Beauvoir Town – and only a few minutes’ walk from Haggerston overground station, on the banks for Regent’s Canal just off the Kingsland Road.

That said, BEWARE!  For reasons known only to Google and Royal Mail, our post-code and address can lead people a merry dance, depending on the phone or search engine you use.

FROM NEAREST TUBE / TRAIN STATIONS
DIRECTIONS FROM HAGGERSTON OVERGROUND (3 Mins)

– Exit Station and turn right

– At corner (Tescos) turn left

– Walk down Kingsland Road for 200 yards until Dunston Road (just before bridge over canal)

– Cross road and get onto the towpath (the entrance to the towpath is opposite Dunston Road)

– Walk along path (and over a little bridge) for 1 min & you’ve arrived.

 

DIRECTIONS FROM LIVERPOOL STREET STATION (15 Mins)

– Exit Liverpool Street Station at Bishopsgate end

– Go to Bus Stop ‘E’ (slightly to the left)

– Take either 149 or 242

– Get off at Laburnum Street (6-8 mins)

– Walk in same direction as bus until you cross the canal (1 min)

– Turn left immediately after the bridge down the path onto the towpath.

– Walk along path (and over a little bridge) for 1 min & you’ve arrived.

 

DIRECTIONS FROM HIGHBURY & ISLINGTON STATION (15 Mins)

– Take Overground three stops to Haggerston

Directions from Haggerston Overground

– Exit Station and turn right

– At corner (Tescos) turn left

– Cross road and get onto the towpath (the entrance to the towpath is opposite Dunston Road, next to 1 Baltic Place)

– Walk along path (and over a little bridge) for 1 min & you’ve arrived.

 

DIRECTIONS FROM OLD STREET STATION (15 Mins)

– Exit station at Exit 2

– Walk 40 yards to Bus Stop K (just outside Nelson’s Retreat)

– Take 243

– Get off at Laburnum Street (6-8 mins)

– Walk in same direction as bus until you cross the canal (1 min)

– Turn left immediately after the bridge down the path onto the towpath.

– Walk along path (and over a little bridge) for 1 min & you’ve arrived.

 

BY TAXI or CAR
IF YOU'RE COMING FROM EAST or SOUTH LONDON

– Ask your driver to drop you off next to Kingsland Bridge (the bridge over the canal) on the Kingsland Road (N1 5AQ).

– Get onto the towpath (the entrance to the towpath is opposite Dunston Road, next to 1 Baltic Place)

– Walk along path (and over a little bridge) for 1 min & you’ve arrived.

IF YOU'RE COMING FROM NORTH or WEST LONDON

– Ask your driver to drop you off at 2-10 Hertford Road (N1 5ET) the very southern end of Hertford Road (where it meets De Beauvoir Crescent)

– Follow the path down the steps behind the 20foot silver obelisk with ‘Reliance Wharf’ on it (next to the Boris Bike station)

– Walk along the path for 30 yards and follow the building around to the right

– Walk through the gate and turn right on the towpath & you’ve arrived

PARKING

– Parking is permitted in parking bays along Hertford Road and the surrounding streets after 6.30pm

– Before 6.30pm, there are Pay & Display bays on Enfield and Downham Road.

– For longer term parking, Britannia Leisure Centre off Pitfield Street is your best bet.

 

BY BIKE
BORIS BIKE

– The De Beauvoir Town Boris Bike Station is right outside our building.

– Follow the path down the steps behind the 20foot silver obelisk with ‘Reliance Wharf’ on it

– Walk along the path for 30 yards and follow the building around to the right

– Walk through the gate and turn right on the towpath & you’ve arrived

BIKE PARKING (ON CANAL)

– Please feel free to attach your bike to our railings (taking care to lock both wheels and frame if possible).

BIKE PARKING (ON HERTFORD ROAD)

– There are some bike racks on the corner opposite our entrance (2-10 Hertford Road, N1 5ET)

– However, please beware of security and ensure very secure locks

– If you can, walk your bike onto the towpath and secure to our railings outside the venue on the towpath (again, taking care to securely lock your bike.)

 

BY FOOT
FROM HERTFORD ROAD

– The Archivist’s Gallery is at Unit V, Reliance Wharf, 2-10 Hertford Road (N1 5ET) the very southern end of Hertford Road (where it meets De Beauvoir Crescent)

– Follow the path down the steps behind the 20foot silver obelisk with ‘Reliance Wharf’ on it (next to the Boris Bike station)

– Walk along the path for 30 yards and follow the building around to the right

– Walk through the gate and turn right on the towpath & you’ve arrived

FROM KINGSLAND ROAD

– Walk along the Kingsland Road until you hit the Kingsland Bridge (the bridge over the canal)

– Get onto the towpath (the entrance to the towpath is opposite Dunston Road, next to 1 Baltic Place)

– Walk along path (and over a little bridge) for 1 min & you’ve arrived.

ON TOWPATH (FROM VICTORIA PARK / LONDON FIELDS

– Walk along the towpath until you pass underneath the big railway bridge

– Continue on path underneath the road bridge (Kingsland Bridge)

– Go over the little white metal bridge (Kingsland Basin to your right)

– The Proud Archivist is on your right

ON TOWPATH (FROM ANGEL / SHOREDITCH PARK

– Walk along the towpath, passing the Gainsborough Studios on your right

– Continue under Bridport Street Bridge & the Whitmore Bridge

– Pass the Towpath Café & Barge House on your left

– Walk a further 100 yards & you’ve arrived

 

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
FROM HERTFORD ROAD

– The Archivist is at Unit V, Reliance Wharf, 2-10 Hertford Road (N1 5ET) the very southern end of Hertford Road (where it meets De Beauvoir Crescent)

– Please proceed to the security gate next to the 20foot silver obelisk with ‘Reliance Wharf’ on it

– Call unit Y on the intercom and we will be able to open the security gate for you to gain access via a ramp.

ALONG TOWPATH

– Access to the towpath either via the ramp next to Whitmore Bridge

– Turn left on towpath

– Go 150 yards until you get to the entrance

 

– Alternatively, via the wheelchair lift next to Arepa Café

– Turn left at bottom

– The entrance to The Archivist is 60 yards down the towpath
