July Album of the Month
The Queen Is Dead was the third studio album by the The Smiths. Released in June 1986 by Rough Trade Records, widely cited by critics as their best studio album. A record to lose yourself in; it has depth, focus and some great tunes, so it’s easy to see why the album is held in such high esteem by Smiths fanatics and why, a decade later, it became a key influence for all things Britpop.
This month we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of this seminal album with images from celebrated photographer, Stephen Wright. The man behind the now iconic ‘The Queen is Dead’ shoot.
